Effective Meetings at Work
While running a meeting, you should encourage group discussion to get a variety of points of views and ideas. This will lead to better quality decisions and highly motivated member because they will feel that attending these work meetings is well worth their time. Encourage feedback. Ideas, activities and commitment to the organization improve when members see their impact on the decision making process. Sometimes during meetings, the conversation might get off track, so it is important to stay focused on the topic. Ask for constructive and non repetitive comments. If a discussion or conversation is leading nowhere, tactfully end the discussion. Keeping minutes of the meeting for future reference will be of help in case question or a problem arises. Because you are leading the meeting you should show interest and appreciation in all members. When the meeting has concluded, set a date, time, and place for the next meeting.
